The temperature at the Philadelphia Airport reached at least 101 degrees on 3 consecutive days from July 2-4, 2026, which was unprecedented in records going back to 1874. Only twice before (7/2-4/1966 and 7/8-10/1993) did the temperature reached 100 on 3 consecutive days.
@RepDeluzio Thank you for standing up for what's right, Congressman, and ignore these people who are calling you a seditionist. If they want to see real seditionists, they only need to look in the mirror.
I live on the other side of PA. Please consider running for Fetterman's Senate seat.
@aethelamerican@BruneElections Iowa and Nebraska (with independent Dan Osborn if he chooses to run again)
Not great odds, but those would be the next on the list.
@Kathy4Truth@stush24 Most Catholics I know were happy with him.
Jesus was a liberal Jew. It is you and the rest of the Christian right who are not aligned with him.
@MarthaByrne10 I'm fine with it. You people don't care about this boy, or the country for that matter.
Perhaps instead of worrying about symbolism, you should be more concerned that your party is busy compromising public health and hindering cancer research.
@MarthaByrne10 Do you see yourself that way? Because it doesn't come across in what you post and in terms of the people you admire. I have never seen you say a kind word about any Democrat, while you support a president who insults and demeans people who disagree with him on a daily basis.
The low temperature of 48 degrees at the Philadelphia Airport on 12/29/2024 (50.8 on my Bryn Mawr thermometer) broke the record high daily minimum of 47 set in 1940 and 1984.
@TimKnight4USA@JamesTate121 I don't see presidential immunity in the Constitution either.
At least Social Security was passed by Congress and signed into law by a president, not made up out of thin air by a rogue Supreme Court.
Measurable precipitation fell at the Airport on only 8 days during the October-November period of 2024 (9 days on my Bryn Mawr thermometer) -- the fewest for the period since at least 1872. The previous record was 9 such days in 1924 and 2001. 1872-2023 mean = 17 days.
With a mean temperature of 63.3 degrees at the Philadelphia Airport (62.4 on my Bryn Mawr thermometer), the February-November period of 2024 was the warmest since 1825. The previous record was 62.9 degrees in 2016 and 2022. 1874-2024 mean temp. for Feb.-Nov. = 59.3 degrees.
With a mean temperature of 60.8 degrees at the Philadelphia Airport (60.2 on my Bryn Mawr thermometer), the January-November period of 2024 was the warmest since 1825. The previous record was 60.3 degrees in 2012. 1874-2024 mean temp. for Jan.-Nov. = 56.9 degrees.
@billsperos@sahilkapur The ACA passed with 220 votes, but the Democrats had 257 seats in that Congress.
The point still stands. The Republicans won't be able to lose more than one or two votes to pass even something modest in the next Congress. Nothing sweeping will pass.
With only 1.08 inches of precipitation at the Philadelphia Airport (0.96 inches in my Bryn Mawr gauge), the period extending from 8/19/2024 through 11/18/2024 was the driest 3-month period (92 days) on record. Previous record = 2.12 inches from 9/13/1922 through 12/13/1922.
The daily maximum temperature of 74 degrees at the Philadelphia Airport on 11/11/2024 (69.8 on my Bryn Mawr thermometer) tied the record high set in 1949 and 2006.
