Thread about 2A:
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
@Alexmipego@gilfees SCOTUS argued the BoR only restricted the federal government in federal cases.
It wasn't until late 1800s | early 1900s where SCOTUS cases argued they in fact restricted STATE governments as well.
2A is not a right. It protects the right.
@JayWalker7810@BK_McCallum @KimsMom3 False
Right of the people, not right of the militia. You would see this if you actually read the Constitution.
The Bill of Rights protects the citizen's individual rights and liberties.
@JayWalker7810@BK_McCallum @KimsMom3 Not fake gun rights if the Constitution explicity protects that right.
How do I support gun rights more than children's safety?
@JayWalker7810@BK_McCallum @KimsMom3 You are not right.
The sole purpose of 2A is to protect and guarantee our right to keep and bear arms from being infringed by the government.
Our right has always been independent with militia service. 2A does nothing with militias.
