@SimonWhistler An idea for a future Warographics series: the Sicilian and Italian Wars. Three parts: (1) the Norman Invasion and the Hauteville dynasty, (2) the War of the Sicilian Vespers and its long legacy, and (3) the Italian Wars from 1494 to the 1700s.

@dirty30m_edits It was certainly a different kind of film than the last few, like a more focused Eternals and a more necessary Black Widow, with almost the perfect balance of grief, anger, politics, and love. It certainly is the strongest product of Phase 4, if not the best.

@AntiFascistAkl @PunkSci1 @Auckland_Libs Not an excuse but an explanation: most of Akl Libraries’ books are bought by Wheelers based on broad collection policies. Research centres are stricter generally and only collect material about Aotearoa or by Kiwi, so these books would never fit in their collections.

@KB_Neal I put all my focus into the PowerPoint and that’s pretty much it. No practice run through. Notes that I never touch (mostly to train my brain what to say). Mixed results usually. I was most prepared at ANZAMEMS 2015 and feel it was a pretty crap presentation, so I stopped caring.

@_MattFirth_ It is indeed. No idea where that’s at but it’s taking FOREVER! My oldest unpublished article is for a book on 15th century France and I also co-wrote a Game of Thrones chapter that’s in limbo.

@FCharmaille I started as an Early Modernist but then did a PhD in late medieval with some papers published on earlier periods. I no longer can see Early Modern as a proper era: it just continues from the medieval seamlessly. I do feel 1789 is a pretty solid end, though.

@pokedaxi Definitely not super secret but just things I’ve had to discover over the years: 1. curveball throws are actually quite easy—just do one J-shaped throw and get good at judging distances; 2. You can swipe left or right when checking IV levels to see adjacent Pokémons’ levels.

@HelanaDarwin My reviewers always seem to fundamentally disagree with my methodology, which makes identifying action items difficult to say the least. Usually their instructions amount to rewriting the entire work, which I’m not going to do. My PhD monograph has been rejected 5 times so far.

@HelanaDarwin The book should be a full 6-8 episode miniseries. The movie somehow made the first half of the book feel longer but have less in it. So much relevant information and context from the book is left out.
