Countries and cities change how the spell and pronounce their names. It's not unheard of.

@AnalyticaCamil1 I was in Prague recently, and was told there that most Czech people prefer "The Czech Republic" over "Czechia". I was told the latter was pushed by broadcasters who found the former too long for sports events etc.. Not sure how true that is.
