59 years ago, approximately at the posting of this comment and accounting for time zone differences, the #USSLibertyc's radios were jammed on both @USNavy tactical and international maritime distress frequencies as the ship came under attack by unmarked @IDF Mirages and Mysteres.
Sixteen hours later, after Sixth Fleet aircraft were recalled while we were still under attack and calling for help and after the life rafts we dropped over the side in anticipation of abandoning ship were deliberately machine gunned in the water, the #USSMassey and #USSDavis appeared out of the morning mist.
The Sixth Fleet finally arrived with the assistance they had promised us in 15 minutes, but they came 15 hours and 45 minutes late.
Not to be outdone, the US government has been waiting 14,245 days and counting to investigate the attack.

"In June 8, 1967, Israeli air and naval forces—with covered over insignia—fired rockets, torpedoes and napalm on a U.S. spy ship, the USS Liberty, in the Mediterranean Sea, killing 34 Americans and injuring 174 more. A secret congressional hearing revealed that two of the pilots were Americans—ex-Navy fliers.[1]
A survivor stated that the ship’s deck afterwards looked “like the floor of a slaughterhouse, with pieces of flesh, bone, hair, various organs and everything else…held in place by dried blood.”....
George Golden, the USS Liberty’s chief engineer and a Purple Heart recipient, told BBC journalist Peter Hounam “they didn’t want any survivors. I was told when we got to Malta—and I’m not going to mention any names—that their orders were to sink that ship and kill everyone on it….the crew all feel that McNamara and Johnson were looking for an excuse to jump in and help Israel.”
