This week's #herpoftheweek, presented by @whatisitdoing is none other than the glorious & most unusual of frogs, the Crucifix Frog (Notaden bennetti)! Watch the video to learn fun facts & hear the discussion that follows. @MQBiology @SimonClulow@aus_herp https://t.co/gpL4pGleHq
@Charlie157874@biologistbarlow@aakashgupta I think it goes beyond just background noise, though. That’s why researchers also looked at how traffic noise impacts mood. That the influence of birdsong was positive but traffic noise at the same volume was negative does suggest the specific frequencies/sound patterns matter.
@singingsox I highly recommend hyper-mobile people consider aqua aerobics, especially following long periods of no regular exercise. I never understood how people could feel good after exercise until I did an aqua class, absolutely blew my mind to find out exercise ≠ pain
@CooKeMonter Some of our frogs have more of the classic frog look (e.g. this little Litoria rubella), but I absolutely agree that L. caerulea looks totally fake
Excited to see our research on the cover of the latest issue of @nature !!
I was never much of a photographer - the frogs did the heavy lifting on this one by being cuuuuute.
Nothin like listening to @alieward’s @Ologies while I weigh and measure the prettiest frogs ever, and thinking all of the crazy facts I’d share about these perfect creatures 😌🐸
