I got a text message from a colleague that afternoon asking if I’d be back the next day because they needed me. I ignored it and didn’t reply until 9:05 am the next day. Like I could’ve been dead or in a coma, do you really want to be that stereotypical work asshole? bffr
Taking a sick day because I’m exhausted and I logged into my work computer for five minutes to let hr know and I got roped into doing 20 minutes of work first. This is a perfect example of why I need a sick day and that I’m not crazy or lazy for being exhausted lmaooo
I need the type of vacation where you shut off all your work notifications and go off the grid to a little remote cabin in the woods and no one bothers you and also you don’t come back to work ever
This is such a recurring pattern in my life, afraid of negative outcomes so I don’t even really try. And I’ve probably missed out on a lot of rly good things because of it and I know I’m sabotaging myself 🙃
Casually looked at real estate listings yesterday and I found a little condo for sale…and honestly? I think I can afford it. Location is gr8, not far from my mom, in a cool town and my commute wouldn’t be too bad
But I’m so paranoid about getting laid off/spending my savings on a down payment/being underwater on a mortgage/outgrowing the place/etc that realistically, I’m probably not going to try for it
While on a zoom call yesterday I found myself looking out the window watching a sparrow that was sitting on my balcony and chirping and I realized I was really jealous of that sparrow and also that I need a vacation and probably a new job
