it makes me really abnormally upset when i see people pin all the blame on rhaenicent’s fallout on otto and i don’t say that in defence of that nasty man but whyyy why does viserys get ancillary blame at best and is so rarely recognized as an equally nasty man
every time i look at them looking at each other i imagine them thinking “where are you?” just. numbly. that feeling when you’re sick and everything is fuzzy and distant. “where are you? i remember you but it’s so long ago that maybe i dreamt it. please come back.”
🚨There's a deleted scene from #hotd that shows Rhaenyra taking Alicent's virginity as she was rumored to do by all of Westeros. The scene was meant to explain why Alicent & Rhaenyra are so obsessed with each other, but was cut bc of concerns that it was too sexy for network tv
how many more times does liv have to say that alicent is terrified of criston for alicoles to understand that alicent and criston are not some sort of fated, kindred spirits and are, in fact, just another example of how alicent is constrained by the violent men around her
i think there is a genuine problem with how the hotd fandom cannot contend with the fact that the main takeaway is that both rhaenyra and alicent are powerless women who happen to belong to the oppressor class in westeros. they’re equals, whether you like it or not.
