في انتهاك جديد للسيادة اللبنانية جاء هذه المرة من قبل الجانب السوري، أقدمت السلطات السورية، في 15 تشرين الأول 2026، على اختطاف مواطن سوري من داخل الأراضي اللبنانية ونقله إلى سوريا.

ونفت شرطة بلدية المنصورية الرواية الرسمية التي روّج لها الجانب السوري عن إلقاء القبض على كيالي على الحدود، مؤكدة في اتصال هاتفي مع "بيروت ريفيو" أن حادثة الخطف وقعت بالفعل ما بين الساعة الواحدة والواحدة والنصف ظهرًا من قِبل مجموعة لم تُعرف هويتها إن كانت سورية أم لبنانية.

وكانت وسائل إعلامية وجهات حقوقية منها "المرصد السوري لحقوق الإنسان" قد أكدت أن مجموعة تتحدث باللهجة اللبنانية اقتحمت منزل كيالي واختطفته بعد تكبيل زوجته وصهره.

مقابل ذلك، لم يصدر إلى الآن أي موقف رسمي لبناني تعليقًا على الحادثة، مع العلم أنها ليست المرة الأولى، إذ سبق أن حدثت عدة عــ..ـمليات خطف وتصفية لسوريين على الأراضي اللبنانية.

هذا الصمت الرسمي يطرح تساؤلات حول جدوى الاتفاقات التي وقّعها رئيس الحكومة نواف سلام أثناء زيارته لسوريا بشأن نقل المطلوبين والمحكومين، خاصة مع تولّي المخابرات السورية اختطاف المواطنين من الأراضي اللبنانية بدل مطالبة لبنان بتسليمهم بشكل قانوني. فهل يُنذر هذا التجاوز بإعادة إحياء زمن الوصاية السورية على لبنان؟

وأثارت هذه الحادثة ردود فعل مندّدة من شخصيات سياسية وإعلامية، منها:

- النائب جميل الســ.ـيـ.ـد: "أفاد الأمن اللبناني أنّ مجهولين قاموا بخطف المذكور من منزله... والسيادة تبكي في المجرور".

- الوزير السابق وئام وهاب: "هل لدينا دولة أم ندعو الناس لحماية نفسها؟ لبنان أرض مستباحة، والحكومة غفيانة".

- الإعلامية رولا نـــصـر: "أقدمت عناصر تابعة للمخابرات التركية والسورية على تنفيذ عــ..ــملية خطف إجرامية والسلطة الأمنية اللبنانية نائمة".

- الصحفي عبد الله قمح: "صديق القاضي أحمد رامي الحاج، إياد الهزاع، القائم بأعمال أحمد الشرع في بيروت، فلتان بالبلد، وسط اتهامات بإدارة شبكات لخطف من يُسمَّون «الفلول»".

Israel’s national water company, Mekorot, is pushing farmers off their land in Latin America.

They’re buying up water rights, restricting access, killing crops, and making the land unaffordable to own.

Once the land is devalued, Israeli families move in and buy it at a steep discount.

This is the same company that diverts water from Palestinian farms to illegal Israeli settlements.

Local protesters are also contacting me directly. Since Mekorot took over, they’re reporting water quality at an all-time low: brown, foul-smelling water and random shutoffs with no timeline for when service will return.

This is how they operate. This is how they steal a country, piece by piece.

This was my daughter, Serena Shim, on her 29th birthday, at the opera in Ukraine. I bought her tickets to Turkey, and she rushed off to the war zone. Nine days later, she was gone.
I lost my oldest daughter. There are no words for the pain or the emptiness she left behind. Some days I’m broken into pieces and I don’t think I can go on. On those days, I think of my Sassy at 23, alone in a war zone, screaming the truth for the world to hear.
She went toward danger when most people run from it. She showed the world what others wanted hidden, and she paid for it with her life. Many mothers have been spared this pain because of the truth Serena brought out.

I welcome the decision by the Supreme Court of Saudi Arabia to set aside the death sentence imposed on Sri Lankan national Anojan Sivarasa.

This brings immense relief to Anojan, his family, and all Sri Lankans who have followed his case with deep concern. It reflects the value of patient diplomacy, respect for the legal processes of a friendly nation, and the tireless work of those who stood by a Sri Lankan citizen abroad.

I express my sincere appreciation to the Government of Saudi Arabia for this outcome. I also thank the many Saudi Arabian and Sri Lankan diplomats, civil servants and legal teams for their dedicated efforts.

My Government will continue to extend all necessary support to Anojan and his family as the remaining legal processes conclude. No Sri Lankan who leaves our shores in search of a livelihood should ever feel that they stand alone.
