Is there anyone in my network after a next to brand new M1 Macbook Air?
I bought one for a job a few weeks back, but its not right for my requirements. Its only had 8 battery cycles so far. Will to sell for -20% of the original price and its only been used for a couple of weeks.
@rachaelashah Theres a belief we can just go to a hybrid approach and that'll work - but in reality its going to take a lot of time for us to figure out exactly how that can work. My place is now also looking at hot desking as we have hired so many people we not don't all fit in the offices!
@rachaelashah its not going to be all the efficient, whereas everyone either remote, or everyone in person seems to be the way to work. For me - it seems utterly pointless to travel and commute to then spend my time sat on my desk taking video calls with people in other offices 2/
@davewascha I quite like asking "what about the job is it you don't like". It often reveals the bits they find challenging and the balance of passion in a constructive vs destructive way. Often tells me if they'll help build the culture I want to encourage.
@bardensays@ring_uk Its crackers, they even publicly admitted their original app had gotten slow and buggy. I reckon its the product of an internal hackathon or rogue engineer who said 'f this' and just made a lightweight one to prove it can work better. Marketing got wind and sent it to the stores!

Whilst in a video call a colleague asks: "what's that weird noise in the background?"
Me, quickly trying to mute my mic as my doc starts mini woofs in his sleep "err, my dog, sorry!"
Usually when I WFH, my dog sleeps in his bed in my study. As it has now been a week of doing it, he's gone back to his normal routine when we're out and is just wandering the house, sleeping in different rooms. He was my work companion and now can't help but feel a bit lonely.
found themselves out of jobs that it is not too long before the world starts to return to some form of normality.
If anyone wants a chat, over video, about anything not related to work or this virus - I'd appreciate it, maybe you will to?
These are weird times - who knows what the world will be when we come out of this. I have Pure O, a type of OCD to do with obsessive thoughts and its absolutely killing me at the moment. I hope everyones safe and adjusting to their new worlds and for others who have suddenly
Never before has the blinking text cursor, waiting for entry felt like a metaphor for how I feel at the moment. Every time i see it, i feel both guilty and scared. I've started looking for creative outlets and trying to do more social interaction in a world where
normally. I'm keeping some form of normality by sticking to routine whilst I WFH, but i keep checking the news and getting absolutely crushed, or when I check in with a friend by text and we end up scaring each other.
