استأنفت د. ليلى سويف، المدافعة عن حقوق الإنسان وأستاذة الرياضيات، إضرابها الكامل عن الطعام في 20 مايو 2022 للمطالبة بالإفراج عن ابنها علاء عبد الفتاح، المعتقل منذ 8 أشهر بعد انتهاء محكوميته.
حياته في خطر. طالبوا بحريته الآن.

أعلنت الدكتورة #ليلى_سويف، والدة المعتقل السياسي المصري #علاء_عبد_الفتاح، اليوم، بعد عودتها إلى لندن، استئنافها الإضراب التام عن الطعام. سويف التي تحمل أيضاً الجنسية البريطانية بدأت اعتصاماً يومياً لمدة ساعة أمام مقرّ رئيس الوزراء البريطاني في #لندن، للمطالبة بالإفراج عن علاء.

وكانت سويف قد بدأت في 27 أيلول الماضي إضرابًا كليًّا عن الطعام لمدّة 156 يومًا، ما أدى إلى تدهور حالتها الصحية ونقلها إلى المستشفى في 25 شباط الفائت، لتبدأ في الأول من آذار إضرابًأ جزئيًأ عن الطعام.
