America's victimhood problem is so bad that even Elon Musk, the richest most influential person in the world, will play.
He chose to enter the fray, failed to come close to fulfilling his promises, was intentionally trolly, combative, and mean-spirited. And now....
Victim.
So let’s just get this crystal clear.
If somebody is trying to manufacture a laptop in the U.S., the components that they import are going to be tariffed at 145%.
But if somebody simply makes the laptop entirely in China, they are fully tariff free?
And this is all to bring manufacturing back to the U.S.?
@NicholasCarr This is really good work, and I know I could look up the stats afterward, but I would LOVE to see this condensed slate afterwards showing the results, like the next morning. I would be checking that every day the next week+.
Honestly, the only really shocking thing about Hegseth cruising to confirmation is just how totally unexceptional he is. The only unique things about him as a nominee are all the red flags. Being a combat soldier is not unique for this role.
Can @elonmusk explain what happened to all the election fraud in 2024?

The irony is that John Thune, the candidate the MAGA coalition fought against, will likely be more effective in advancing the Trump/MAGA agenda than Rick Scott, who lacks the organizational skills and does not enjoy the respect of his colleagues like Thune does.
It’s part of the current asymmetry of US politics that the GOP winning the popular vote by a 2 percent margin can get represented as an epochal landslide and cause for a staggering mandate, whereas the reverse would never be interpreted that way
Without citing data regularly we tend to be pretty bad in estimating numbers. People tend to overestimate the migrant population in their country by quite a bit. This is pretty serious since voting decisions might be influenced by false assumptions. Data-driven journalism can help a lot to educate the public.
the contrast couldn't big bigger:
-under harris, on average, the bottom 99% will see taxes go down while the top 1% will see taxes go up
-under trump, on average, the bottom 95% will see costs go up while the top 5% will see taxes go down
