Construction industry is in chaos. While over 82,000 experienced, qualified tradespeople sit at home without work, companies are filling sites with unqualified replacements , often cheap, inexperienced labour brought in through various programs.
The result? Messy, unsafe, and inefficient job sites where workers have little idea what they’re doing. Quality suffers, timelines slip, costs balloon, and safety risks rise .. all while skilled locals who know the trade inside out are sidelined.
This mismatch isn’t building homes faster or better; it’s undermining the entire sector.
Prioritizing experienced Ontario workers would restore competence, safety, and productivity on our construction sites.💯💪
