Last Thursday at Memorial Union in Madison, a room of people gave up a summer afternoon to sit in a classroom and work out what the rules are going to be. 🏛️

As @standwithcrypto's Wisconsin chapter president, that is the room I most want to be in.

Our session at Forward Fest 2026 (@fwdtech), hosted with @wi_bbc and @BadgerBlock.

What the room wanted was the regulatory landscape, and not just for crypto companies. For every industry now touching this technology.

Not people hunting a thesis. Operators trying to learn the rules before the rules arrive.

Last Tuesday with @the_mjsterling in Madison for the first meeting of Wisconsin's Legislative Council Study Committee on Cryptocurrency. ⚖️

There with @wi_bbc and @standwithcrypto.

The witnesses: a UW law professor, @WIS_DFI, @wisbank and @WICULeague. Serious people making serious arguments about protecting investors.

Not one company actually building in this space.

The committee is weighing whether staking-as-a-service should be exempt from state securities law. Hard to answer well without validators in the room.

Credit to the chair for opening with "I have a low level of expertise here." That is how you start.

This is the stage where the shape of it gets set, while the questions are still open.

Next meeting is October 15, and he invited topic suggestions.
