I was told Thursday that I will not be retained by the new ownership of the @PittsburghPG. It's been a true honor, to have shared a newsroom with so many talented journalists. It was a career goal to make it to the #PostGazette and I'm glad I got to do it while both of my parents were still alive. I stood on Steelers sidelines, I photographed a now infamous day in Butler County and had any number of memorable moments. But most of all I'll remember the people. The colleagues I stood in the rain with for breaking news, the community members who appreciated having their stories told. There's still a lot of talented people inside those walls. I'm excited for them, and look forward to seeing what they do. As for me, I'll be fine. I'll figure it out. I always do. It's the reality of the business I chose. I wouldn't trade it for anything. In the words of the immortal Hunter S. Thompson, "Buy the ticket, take the ride."
