I submitted an FOI request to the GMC asking them about the tax they pay.

Turns out, the GMC do not pay tax. They class doctors' fees as charity.

They take £500/yr from doctors, pay zero tax on it, and use it to give their staff £250k salaries and private healthcare.

@abibadrick Try TEDS and downing 1-2 glasses/cups water before! I got presyncopal once and was so annoyed, it’s a reflex thing but I felt so embarrassed. Didn’t happen again after I made sure to eat, drink and I did try TEDS a couple of times 😊

Those doctors who striked, I urge you to check your pay deductions

As per @BMA_JuniorDocs guidance you should be deducted 1/365 of your annual salary for every strike day and not the number of hours! (Unless your hourly rate of a day is less than 1/365 of your salary - unlikely)
