Dr. George R. Kilpatrick Jr., a pioneering Black pulmonologist in Greensboro, North Carolina, has devoted nearly six decades to caring for patients. A graduate of Meharry Medical College (Class of 1968), he was recruited to Greensboro where he helped establish and expand respiratory care services, significantly improving access to specialized treatment at local hospitals including L. Richardson Hospital. He is also the father of renowned neurosurgeon Dr. Michaux Kilpatrick, continuing a remarkable family legacy of service in North Carolina medicine.
