@nazzobetweeting It costs significantly more to heat your house, which brits have to do for most of the year, whereas it's only a heat wave for around a week a year.
@girlsetmila@ajlamesa Because it happens for like a week a year. Look at the most recent heat wave it lasted at most a week. We pay significantly more to keep the house warm for most of the year.
@yung_celt@mjd7718@gearoidoriain86 The UK is a country of nations, each with their own parliament. Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland are all countries in their own right, that's why they can have separate sports teams etc, the US on the other hand is one country.
@yung_celt@mjd7718@gearoidoriain86 No he's not, English or other Welsh people wouldn't deny he's Welsh, whereas Irish, Welsh, English and Scottish people do deny you're Irish, English people genuinely have more in common with Irish people then "Irish Americans".
@yung_celt@mjd7718@gearoidoriain86 It doesn't matter what you accept, he is Welsh because he's from Wales. You are not from Ireland, you are American, you have nothing in common with actual Irish people, your culture is entirely American with a bit of Irish role playing a few times a year, probably stereotypical
@benrhiatt@StatisticUrban The UK was at the forefront of archeology, it funded the expeditions to excavate and preserve ancient artifacts, unlike the countries they came from who neglected their history and lost countless artifacts due to that neglect and actual looting.
@nathanmaximoff_@RichBecker Because she's just boring, her journey is not interesting. Her power doesn't make a compelling story unlike Luke and Anakin.
@nathanmaximoff_@RichBecker Anakin has a fantastic arc, his natural potential is his undoing, it's what causes his arrogance and gets him beaten multiple times, also leading him to being swayed to the dark side, as he struggles with his emotions and trauma. Rey is just a boring nothing character.
@RuairiAodh@JonNeale@Alex_Fairfax06 It's a generalised term referring to everyone on the isles. I understand why Ireland doesn't want to use it tho and shouldn't be used.
