Slop mods have existed since the dawn of time. AI-made or not, sloppery is a human trait, from personality mods to “goth realistic fishnet tights”. Let's not normalize the idea that just because someone makes everything themselves, they can't make mistakes :/
@GlamGecko@loinxy "I have zero interest in helping you" was quite strong and unnecessary especially since they did not ask for your help in any way. You're pushing your own narratives with the anti-AI stigma that you're perpetuating.
@GlamGecko@loinxy Most people who learn to mod Sims games aren't developers. They learn on their own time as a hobby. Expecting actual software devs to mod your game for free is kinda entitled. Using mods has always been risky. You don't need to insult people who are trying to learn.
@CBXSims And fyi, we had sloppy code before AI and we'll have sloppy code after AI. Sims 3 was an official commercial software and it fried people's computers and couldn't run with all packs. EA didn't need AI to release and charge for sloppy software.
@CBXSims Beginner modders will inevitably use AI tools to learn modding going forward. Stop perpetuating the stigma and they won't feel the need to hide it. The issue isn't AI or no AI. It's beginner vs experienced modders. And even experienced modders release buggy mods.
@CBXSims I mean your intention was to "expose" them for using AI, was it not? What else was the point of your tweets? In a community that loves to bully people no less..
@bunnisimmiess@ComfortXoxo We still get to do the former and now we have Claude and Codex for the latter. If you really were a computer scientist, you'd know this.
@bunnisimmiess@ComfortXoxo AI code and AI art are not the same thing. Manual coding has always been tedious, that's why we had snippets, auto-completes, and boilerplates long before AI. The fun part was architecting your codebase, not trying to recall syntax and debugging missing brackets.
this WHOLE time y'all said @Simsiboy_ was copying this fuckass mod THE FIRST PERSON TO MAKE THIS EXACT MOD MADE IT 4 MONTHS AGO. by your logic EVERYONE COPYING
@CBXSims AI can be invaluable in assisting with the tedious parts. But it comes down to individual creators and how they use it in their process. There will be people who have zero interest in learning the code and will try to scam people via Patreon but Maru did not do that.
@CBXSims This is already an issue with modders, regardless of whether they use AI or not. There's been plenty of mods causing corruption, bugs, or were not maintained by the modder. You can point out specific issues with Maru's CAS mod, but demonizing them over their tech-stack is not it.
