I was so happy to be a part of this series! If you're into science fiction and/or fantasy, check out the recordings of all their panels. Listen to artists explore different kinds of SFF media + themes, then read the academic responses to the conversations (including mine below!)
Dr Parinita Shetty's (@wildpyjamas) academic response to our third event "Representations of Social Issues in SFF Worlds and Narratives" is here! Read "Restorying Imaginations with Multimodal SFF and Fan Counternarratives" here:

You can build as big a temple as you want but if you bulldoze a thousand homes in the same neighborhood then our people are going to notice, and remember... because the idea of India is still far bigger than one political party's skewed idea of India.
A group of 9-12 year old kids from a community centre in Cork met up with kids living in refugee accommodation nearby.

@excaliburedpan Have you read Gideon the Ninth? I LOVED it (the the next two books in the series too) but equally I can see people really disliking it (It's very weird and excellent but requires you to be okay with having no idea what's going on 87% of the time)

It was SUCH an honour to receive the UKLA 2023 student research award for my PhD thesis at their international conference last week. Huge thanks to @LucyTaylor70 for nominating me and to @The_UKLA for all the kind words about my work + offering me the time & space to share it.
I completely forgot to share my actual favourite photo (courtesy @ILoveCopyright ). My award lasted intact through dinner + dessert. Then there was a mysterious CRASH under the table & I instantly knew what had happened. Everyone felt SO bad & I couldn't stop laughing. Typical.
@jenfarrar76 @drmo28@medcll@UofGEducation Hahaha and I'd never want to, thank you Jen! I absolutely credit/blame you for sending me down this whole route because I still remember (& frequently bring up at presentations + my thesis) how your lecture introduced me to critical literacy and set my brain ablaze 💜
