When Kalonzo Musyoka’s people tried their online smear campaign against Edwin Sifuna, they thought they had found an easy target. They were wrong. We rose in numbers and dismantled their nonsense within hours.

Then the Gachagua camp tried to demean Sifuna and his supporters. We gave them a political reality check they will not forget. Then came the Orengo bloggers, armed with the usual recycled propaganda and political rubbish. We tore their narrative apart and sent them back to the drawing board.

Then came Babu Owino on Sunday at the Linda Mwananchi rally. Babu tried to play games with Sifuna and clearly underestimated the people standing behind him.

What followed was political fire. Sifuna’s supporters came down on that stunt with such force that Babu could not simply brush it aside.

The pressure became impossible to ignore, and today he has been forced to come out and declare that he supports H.E. Edwin Watenya Sifuna for President 100 percent. He has even gone out of his way to say that he has no problem with the incoming President.

Let that sink in.

This is what happens when politicians mistake a movement for a personal playground. You test the movement, the movement tests you back.

Babu thought he could throw a political punch at Sifuna and walk away smiling. Instead, he discovered that Sifuna has built a support base that is politically alert, vocal and unwilling to be treated like a collection of political extras.

The attempted joke has now ended with a public clarification. Politics has a brutal way of teaching people the difference between confidence and miscalculation.

And this is not the first time. Kalonzo’s people tried it. Gachagua’s people tried it. Orengo’s bloggers tried it. Babu tried it. Every time, the same lesson has emerged: Sifuna is not politically defenceless.

We are no longer some quiet audience waiting for politicians to decide our future.

We are a political force, and anyone who thinks they can manufacture lies about Sifuna, insult his supporters or deliberately distort the movement’s agenda without being challenged is living in yesterday’s Kenya.

We will expose the propaganda. We will challenge the lies. We will dismantle the political games. And we will do it loudly enough that nobody can pretend they didn't hear us.

But make no mistake about the bigger picture. We are not building this movement to win Twitter arguments.

We are not here to crown Babu, protect Kalonzo, rehabilitate Gachagua or settle the political ambitions of individual politicians.

We have one destination: State House.

That is why the political establishment should stop underestimating this movement. The people behind Sifuna are not looking for permission to participate in Kenya’s political future. We are coming to claim our space at the table and, ultimately, at the ballot box.

We call ourselves the Sifuna Online Defence Force — S.O.D.F. And our job is simple: defend our candidate, destroy dishonest narratives with facts and arguments, and make sure political opportunists do not hijack a national movement for their own ambitions.

So let the bloggers blog. Let the political surrogates shout. Let the desperate spin doctors manufacture their next narrative.

We are watching.

And to anyone still tempted to underestimate Edwin Watenya Sifuna, take a good look at what happened after Sunday.

Babu has spoken.

At Ruto’s rallies, you see people in uda caps and hundreds of school buses parked around the venue. One looks like citizens showing up for their country. The Linda Mwananchi rally in Nairobi should be more than just another political gathering. It should be the day we make our position crystal clear: Edwin Sifuna for President and Babu Owino for Governor of Nairobi.

I am praying that on that same day, our new political party will finally be unveiled so that the people can clearly see the vehicle through which this movement will pursue its agenda.

And to anyone who sees themselves as the “superior leader,” let’s remember one thing: leadership is ultimately determined by the people, not by titles, noise or self-proclamation.

Today, Edwin Sifuna is the sitting Nairobi Senator and, in our movement, he is the man we are preparing to take to State House. Babu Owino is the leader we want to see take charge of Nairobi County.

Sifuna has demonstrated significant support in Nairobi, while maintaining a leadership style that is not driven by desperation for power or unnecessary showmanship. He doesn’t have to constantly remind people that he is a leader—the people and the numbers speak for themselves.

That is the kind of leadership I pray all our principals will embrace: humility over arrogance, service over personal ambition, unity over division, and the people over political ego.

So when Nairobi gathers under Linda Mwananchi, let the message be loud and unmistakable:

SIFUNA FOR PRESIDENT.
BABU OWINO FOR GOVERNOR.
LINDA MWANANCHI FOR THE PEOPLE.

Nairobi should not be told who its leaders are. Nairobi should choose them.
