Fresh hope indeed! A fine morning to be sharing this news.
Viva Woodside! Cornhill! Cults! Kaimhill! Ferryhill! Northfield! Bucksburn!
Now’s the time to make feelings plain.
Aberdeen’s communities need their vital public services!

BREAKING: Fresh hope for six libraries and a swimming pool in Aberdeen closed due to budget cuts.
Following the threat of court action, campaigners say the council will run a full consultation and equality impact assessments.
Council approached for a response.

Tomorrow’s full meeting of @AberdeenCC councillors has two motions that have been referred from committees to full council relating to the six recently closed libraries and the Bucksburn Pool. Public are allowed to watch meeting in person or via video link from 10 am.
NEW: @AberdeenCC has confirmed that the decision to close two city libraries took place without an official impact assessment being conducted, per a FOI request.
The Council holds 'no recorded information' about the reasons for adding the two libraries during the budget process.
Aberdeen librarians are amazing. What they had to deal with last month because of council decisions was appalling. The councillors weren’t there comforting and explaining to upset library users, but the librarians were.
Do you mean @AberdeenCC is not allowed to say they’ve done impact assessments when they haven’t? Is it OK to fake them three weeks after the budget was set by adding Woodside and Kaimhill to the list? Probably a good idea to ask some experts to look into this nonsense.

We would be happy to speak to any of these politicians. We would also love to see what the footfall numbers “scrutinised” were & if opening hours were taken into account when doing so. 🧐
We know that @HumzaYousaf is in Aberdeen today, and had we not been at work/ housebound due to illness or disability/ needing to take care of children we would have gone down to the Greyhope Road today. We want to speak to our First Minister and have him listen to our concerns
I borrowed Public Library by Ali Smith from Woodside on 23 Feb 2023, before @AberdeenCC had even proposed its cuts to libraries. Michelle said "Some people love this one, others didn't like it so much. I'd like to know what you think!" This is what I think. @SaveAbdnLibs
No buses make the journey from Woodside to Tillydrone. I suppose you could take several buses into town and back and make a day of it, if you have the spare cash? Of course, getting on and off several buses might be a problem in itself. @SaveAbdnLibs@AberdeenCC
