@PaulSaxMD@IDSAInfo Procalcitonin. Helpful to distinguish viral from bacterial pneumonia but ordered by hospitalists for every patient with a fever who doesn’t have an infiltrate. And then repeated daily.
The CDC has delayed the publication of a report showing that the Covid vaccine significantly reduced the likelihood of hospitalizations and emergency visits last winter.
This is a clear example of putting politics over science at the cost of lives.

@francysromero The HBP was a 2 strike pitch. No way he’s trying to hit Soler. Saying the up and in pitch was intentional is presumptuous. It wasn’t even that close to Soler. Then to say he confronted Soler is silly. Soler was the one confronting and Lopez had the ball in his hand as he reacted.
@_Pitter_Patter_@b_outliers Agreed. With Soler standing there staring down Lopez he should have moved in front of the plate. He could have intercepted him before anything ever happened.
@b_outliers I thought the same thing . You would think a guy trying to hang with a club would be especially motivated to make an effort there but he didn’t seem very motivated.

🚫Myth: Measles is mild.
✅Fact: Measles can be life-threatening.
As measles outbreaks continue across parts of the U.S., IDSA has updated our fact sheet on the measles, mumps and rubella vaccine: https://t.co/lyhxj0UTR2
@CDCgov The ongoing measles outbreak is absolutely a policy failure. There is no way to sugarcoat this. Health leadership has failed the American public and the CDC is sadly no longer an objective, reliable source of information
ID physicians see the devastating consequences of vaccine-preventable diseases every day, & now more than ever, families & clinicians need accurate information & evidence-based recommendations they can trust.
