It was a 5 year dream that came true about 8000kms ago. I’ve been a Tesla owner for a few months now and have not posted anything about while I’ve been getting to know my new tool.
Planning some FSD videos on my adventures around Auckland (city/rural roads).
NZ is currently on v13.2.9
Both have pros / cons as I’ve found - but I’m here in nz. Busy city it’s driving slower and easier to supervise but open roads it’s most likely not driving the speed (either too slow or too fast) which is my main issue with FSD. I think if you drive FSD thinking you don’t have to intervene - most will be unhappy. Honestly, if they called it traffic management driving - it would be a hit haha.
@ryanjaycowan Man congrats - epic looking wagon. I was feeling for you not to just pop it into FSD. It’s actually harder than we think to manually drive when FSD is not available. Enjoy mate!
New update BUT NOT the update we want!
Taking 2026.8.3.10 FSD (Supervised) v13.2.9 Down Under for a spin.
I drove around mostly in FDS for the rest of the day after this short review and must say I noticed everything felt smoother but FSD might of just been having a “good” day 😝
Come on v14 - you are not the software we want - you are the software we need! (and paid for…)
That moment you get the notification of a software update only to realised it’s still v13 😮💨
Ah well, it’s still a great software and gets me from A to B everyday without too much drama.
Wonder what it will be like when FSD v14 arrives down under?
Same boat as you mate. Nearly did it while it was available here in nz but in the end - I can’t transfer it and it dies when the car dies. Plus, I’m hoping that as this topic gets more popular with FSD unsupervised - that this will push down the cost because going much higher might price people out of the game. Just my thoughts pal…
So many great points here. Yes, here in New Zealand, we are on an old v13 “down under” software, but in saying that, I am on the road most days and there is heaps of traffic and silly Kiwi drivers. FSD is exactly what I thought it would be - to be in control without having to make every decision to not kill myself or someone else. It has been great for me and my business ambitions to arrive to important meetings and network events feeling fresh and ready. It is really a work buddy for me. I call my Model 3, T.O.O.L 😂
@CockertonPaul - was on the roads today and FSD kept trying to pull back to 100km even though the speed limit was 110km. Was strange becuase later in the drive FSD would randomly speed up. Maybe v14 will sort it out…
We’re back on the kiwi roads to do a bit of FSD at 110km/h 👍
Only problem is that our “down under” version of FSD won’t stay at the speed limit.
I thought Tesla had done a sneaky update but as it turns out…
@DevinOlsenn Great milestone. Most can’t make it that far. I see the effort put in and the time. A cool archive you’re creating as well - imagine your family going back and watching these old vids when we do hit FDS unsupervised. It will be cool.
