@mountainwesttax The best is when you tell them you cannot do this and they respond with “I have other CPA’s do this all the time and no one else ever has a problem with it”.
@CPATaxTeam Once checks were received, we amend returns for the years claimed (minus interest picked up in current year).
This new approach was how we always thought it should have been administered. Cleaner and less work for everyone and getting to the same result.
@baldridgecpa@Stan_3s@betterbkg Agreed. Also bookkeeping needs good timely data, which many clients have to be chased down for. With their price point, it’s hard to afford time for that. Couldn’t deliver because they didn’t get good info and it killed their budgets and ability to scale.
@DeFiTaxPlanner @taxchic_k Agreed. The concepts are fairly straightforward. The biggest issue I have found is making sure clients provide complete records. Without them you’ll see wild swings in gains and losses.
@moneyeducator Agree with @LoganGrafTax. We moved from CCH to UltraTax a few years ago. Only two I’d consider now. If you’re starting out, the software is not the thing to go cheap on.

These changes will impact individuals (cap gain and ordinary rates), corporations, estate and gift tax, along with international taxes as well.
