Reading all these rules of workplace navigation is exhausting. Beyond doing the work, you also have to spend so much energy figuring out how to be seen, how to communicate, and how to manage relationships.

Those skills won’t disappear, but in the AI era, execution is becoming cheaper and individual output easier to amplify and verify. The premium on “playing the game” may shrink, while the ability to consistently deliver real outcomes will matter more.

Office politics won’t vanish. Results will simply become a harder currency.
