I warned Biden and Harris directly: Our silence on Gaza was morally, legally, and politically wrong.
We were told it wasn't in the data. That wasn't strategy – it was risk aversion dressed up as wisdom.
Democrats cannot make that same mistake again this midterm season.
Why should the red states pay for the corruption and mismanagement of California? Let the bond market dry up and retirement benefits go into default. Let’s flip CA red for 200 years.
There is absolutely a case that the US government needs to exert more political control over A.I. as a technology given what its own architects say about where it's going and how world-altering it might become. But the best case for that kind of political exertion is fundamentally about safety and caution and restraint. The administration is putting itself in a position where it's perceived to be the incautious party, the one removing moral and technical guardrails, exerting extreme power over Anthropic for being too safety-conscious and too restrained. Just as a matter of politics that seems like an inherently self-undermining way to impose political control over A.I.
For decades, 401(k) participants have been limited to public market investments. Now, that’s beginning to change with the recent presidential executive order directing the DOL and SEC to evaluate opening 401(k) plans to alternative assets along with the Department of Labor’s decision to rescind a supplemental statement discouraging fiduciaries from considering alternatives in 401(k) retirement plans.
With these tailwinds, defined contribution plan participants will potentially be able to reap the benefits of the private markets long enjoyed by institutional investors and those who were part of defined benefit programs.
Access to private markets may lead to greater diversification within savers’ portfolios. This diversification can create resilience for varying market environments, potentially offering enhanced returns over the long term, and helping 401(k) participants build stronger and more secure retirements.
At @BlueOwlCapital, we’re committed to expanding access to private assets. As retirement investing evolves, we’re proud to be leading the way by offering private market investment products for defined contribution retirement plans through our partnership with @Voya.
I continue to hope the administration’s rhetoric on Greenland is nothing more than posturing for a new era of cooperation, because any effort to claim or take the territory by force would degrade both our national security and our international relationships. We have a long history of close cooperation with Greenland, dating back to World War II and continuing today with the Pituffik Space Base, and have always been able to achieve our mutual goals through strong diplomacy with its people. As Greenland charts its future, we must see it as an ally, not an asset, and focus on continued partnership rather than possession.
As a doctor who treated patients for decades, my top priority is protecting children and families. Multiple children have died or were hospitalized from measles, and South Carolina continues to face a growing outbreak. Two children have died in my state from whooping cough. All of this was preventable with safe and effective vaccines.
The vaccine schedule IS NOT A MANDATE. It’s a recommendation giving parents the power. Changing the pediatric vaccine schedule based on no scientific input on safety risks and little transparency will cause unnecessary fear for patients and doctors, and will make America sicker.
