Fourth graders worked in partners to solve problems requiring them to multiply whole numbers and decimals. I was so impressed with the variety of strategies they implemented! @LyonsMill
Paying teachers decently is expensive and hard. But even harder and more expensive is a school system with 300+ vacancies, because 900+ teachers left the profession or moved for better pay last year. @BaltCoPS can provide world-class educators for all kids, let’s make it work!
These fourth graders are calculating the volume of rectangular prisms as well as determining dimensions with a given volume. Lots of learning happening on the 4th day of 4th grade! @LyonsMill
After a morning of MCAP testing we had a fun afternoon in math! We started with a problem string and learned our new favorite work place, Beat the Calculator! Are you faster than a calculator? @LyonsMill
Students used omnifix cubes to build rectangular prisms with a volume of 24. They worked with partners to find as many configurations as possible and wrote their findings on the board! @LyonsMill
Current update on my reading goal for this year. Just finished reading Legendborn by @tracydeonn and OMG WHAT AN INCREDIBLE STORY. Definitely one of my favorites I’ve read so far this year. #2021readingchallenge
I created a #BlackHistoryMonth calendar for educational purposes only. I do not own any image or video. Each image is linked to a video presentation/read aloud. Feel free to share with students, teachers, and families. #BlackExcellence https://t.co/U0GCNLD5Ic
We are reading The Tale of Despereaux for our Advanced Reading novel study. One of my favorite parts is listening to my students bring the drama as they practice their fluency. My girl was feeling this story this morning.
