After the tragedy in Minnesota yesterday, I ask a very simple question: What are we OK with?
I truly believe this is worth your time.
Also, don’t argue in the comments. Don’t even read them.
This is huge. Continue to use your voices/platforms. Continue to keep working together. The work doesn’t end here.
Continue to create pressure to enact change. If we cannot get it from our leaders, we’ll forge it ourselves.
Keep working together.
A completely unnecessary organization that exists only to terrorize civilians with full government support and impunity. A Gestapo unambiguously murdering civilians in the broad light of day. Then the government lies to defend them. Repeatedly. It’s evil and it must be abolished.
Even if you take the conservative defense of each ICE killing, you’re left with “We haphazardly scaled up a poorly trained police force to storm into neighborhoods that voted against the president, where we antagonize the local population until someone resists arrest, and then we kill them,” which is morally horrendous on top of being an absurd way to do immigration policy.
To be clear about what this depicts: An immigration officer threw a woman onto the ground. Alex Pretti, a registered nurse on scene as a legal observer, is filming and goes to help the woman up. He is then pepper sprayed and thrown to the ground for no discernible reason. Many officer surround and assault him; one removes his firearm, which police say appears to have been legally registered. They then execute him with a hail of bullets.
They are, objectively speaking, both cowards and criminals, while Pretti is what we teach people an American ought to be.
Thinking about changing my NBA team fan ship. Pels are poverty. Dumars is an idiot, Zion never healthy, Willie shouldn’t be a HC, Blender sucks as an arena, Gayle needs to sell the Saints and Pels, and there is no path to relevancy. Time to give up
It's worth remembering that DOGE is a failure at Every. Single. Possible. Level.
At the micro level, they misread, misled and straight up lied about many of the 'savings'. They'd announce '500m saved!' and it would be some contract where the money was 98% already spent and already wasn't being renewed.
At the macro level, they didn't impact spending at all. The government is spending more in 2025 than 2024, on basically the same trajectory but a little more.
At the institutional level, they didn't even convince the GOP that deficits are a problem worth caring about. The GOP just passed a bill that explodes the deficit by trillions of dollars.
At a personal level, Elon got run out of town with his tail between his legs and the most notable public facts about the Cracked Coders are that one of them was a mini Hitler, one was called 'big balls' and none of them bothered to learn how the government actually works before they lit it on fire.
They gutted a bunch of important institutions, fired whole departments at random, decimated medical research funding, killed a bunch of people dependent on USAID, and still failed at every possible level.
