@OrwellWhatever@EHunt48483@agraybee Also, again, merging is a synonym for integrating, you are trying to get him on uncharitable interpretation of semantics. Also also, just giving them all of our technology still amounts to billons in military subsidy per year. We aren't providing this for free to any other ally.
@OrwellWhatever@EHunt48483@agraybee The bill specifies "counter-drone systems, missile and air defense, quantum computing, AI and autonomous systems, cyber and electronic warfare, directed energy, and defense industrial base co-production" be shared as well as joint training. This is not just about research.
@RCPolitics Brooks left his wife for a younger woman, who was his subordinate at work at the time. Literally no consistent standards among any of these people, just "I forgive myself and mine, I condemn my opposition and theirs".
@EHunt48483@agraybee This implies that you've never before heard a Piker fan accuse somebody else of dishonesty.
Really, just think things through rather than immediately go for dunks all the time, I promise it will work out better for you.
@iwontconform@agraybee It changes a lot. The impetus right now is to make material support for Israel's military inherent in the budget of our own, allowing Congress to claim they've ceased aid while entrenching it. Also, it's an intelligence leak and forces alignment of interests between militaries.
@EHunt48483@agraybee That's agreeing with Piker, you all just want to interpret him as uncharitably as possible because you desperately want dunks where you can't find any.
@EliLake It's always so funny how pro-democracy electoralists love to call for political exclusion the second they start losing primaries. If you forcibly separate your party from the wishes of the voters, you kill your party. Pro tip: Try winning for once.

@naaycoqui El-Sayed is a young, healthy, photogenic, eloquent, educated, and personable candidate that advocates for popular policies and isn't cowed away from that by corruption or elite institutional pressure. What is the argument against his electability?
@FrederikRi61270@ClippingWings They're self-proclaimed lawyers. When you self-proclaim expertise in something, you are explicitly expressing a lack of humility in that realm. When the arguments of laymen hold up over yours, it is not just a matter of making a wrong prediction, your claimed expertise is bunk.
@ResistanceSean Perhaps your sensibilities are out-of-touch with those of the electorate. It may even be possible that qualities that you think are positive in a politician are actually negative and that you have a blindspot for more important qualities.
@Mr_Andrew_Fox Palestinians in the West Bank have been trying this strategy of being unarmed for decades. In that time they've actually lost more land to Israeli thieves. The only reason you think this is "the best" rather than ahistorical nonsense is because you favor this occurring.
@JillFilipovic The only reasonable conclusion is that Democratic leaders want him to lose to his Republican opponent but they aren't willing to say the real reason publicly. What is the major policy area that Collins agrees with Democratic leaders on that Platner disagrees on?
@JillFilipovic There are people who dislike Platner for his military service and continued pride in it. Many find his work as a mercenary disqualifying. Some find his pro-gun stances dangerous. Democratic leaders are none of these. Instead they focus on stuff they've overlooked in past allies.
@BulembuSwazi@upholdreality Not only is that fake, but if we had that our housing would be affordable. We would literally be better off having 90 million empty apartments in the US rather than the housing shortage that we do have.
@neeratanden Do you remember anything from actual reality? There were even people calling on Ruth Bader Ginsburg to retire years earlier. It was actually centrist Democrats who defended her decision not to. And vote turnout was high that election anyway! This was entirely on the elites.
@ettingermentum I think he could have overcome his background if he was a mayor or something first. These rich dudes think because they made a lot of money they can just skip to governorships or even the presidency, but that shit only reliably works in the Republicans Party.
@JCColtin Liberals usually just attack those who were correct earlier than they were without naming that specifically is the reason for their resentment, so this is refreshing in a way.
