With all the legal and cultural obstacles, what can we do to keep up the fight to integrate K12 schools? In my piece, published (my first time!) by @AIRInforms, I propose an outside-the-box answer: reward schools that resemble their diverse neighborhoods.

Thread: (1/9) I've been in Dem politics for 14 yrs. I'm incredibly frustrated & disappointed at the lack of bold leadership, esp. when our hopes were so high after reclaiming the WH in 2020. I am angry. Most of my friends are furious.
In December, we listened to 10,000 Americans in battleground states to understand their internalized narratives on gun violence and crime. In this moment, Democrats should not hold back. Here’s how we know:

@hmcghee: “at this point in our discourse—also when so many white people feel deeply unprivileged—it’s more important to talk about the world we want for everyone.” https://t.co/d3WJSHNG4F
There’s a new trend that you see everywhere in progressive writing and in democratic politics: describing every race-blind proposal as an initiative to advance racial equity. This framing is technically correct, but I think it's bad politics. Here's why: https://t.co/8UBKBZd1R7
