This is what Elon Musk and his orc lieutenants *know* they’re stirring up. They’re trying to get some psycho to do the deed(s) for them.
It’s unbelievable to me we American taxpayers are funding this fascist scumbag (who comes from a very long line of fascist scumbags, to boot).
This week, I have seen several prominent TERFs flatly suggest that this would be a desirable outcome and that it amounted to an acceptable form of "corrective" punishment.
But apparently, in their world, it is trans people who are the danger...
this money could be used to change the world for the better and its instead being used by the wealthy to destroy the planet just to become even more wealthy
The hardware price increases across the board are devastatingly painful to see because once the price goes up, it doesn’t come back down. These increases are now permanent and they will continue. The consequence of this is that due to the increased unaffordability people will be/are being pushed into cloud computing, which will be gatekept via digital biometric verification, which can be revoked at any time depending on your social standing or if you adhere to “the terms of service.”
You will own nothing, you will live in the pods, you will eat the bugs, and you will stream the compute.
The continued march towards the eradication of physical ownership of media, hardware, and eventually your own physical bodies (bookmark this post that this will happen one day) continues.
It's clear what Elon is at this point. In his own comments, he walks the line poorly, but the people he follows and retweets are clearer. It's gross. It's dangerous. And it's scary that he has so much political power.
BOOMER MOM: “You eat out too much.”
GEN Z: “I cook every night.”
BOOMER MOM: “Groceries can’t be that expensive.”
GEN Z: “I spent $310 last week.”
BOOMER MOM: “For one person?!”
GEN Z: “Eggs are $7. Chicken is $9 a pound.”
BOOMER MOM: “You’re shopping wrong.”
GEN Z: “Store brand. Sales. Coupons. Everything.”
BOOMER MOM: “We fed a family of four for $100 a week.”
GEN Z: “That was 1987.”
BOOMER MOM: “Excuses.”
Walmart made $16 billion in profit last year.
Grocery bills up 36% since 2020.
But sure.
I just don’t know how to shop.
Insane how Sam Altman destroyed the entire tech industry for the foreseeable future. These prices are just ridiculous. Our salaries don’t increase at the same pace these guys raise prices
How dare you accuse Tommy Robinson of doing coke when he is sniffing, licking his lips, has veins bulging out his head and wiping his nose every 5 seconds.
Clearly signs of hayfever.
We really CANNOT have sustainable energy because it threatens the oil industry. We cannot have healthcare because it threatens insurance. We cannot have peace because it threatens the weapons industry. Capitalism built a system where doing the right thing is treated like bad business.
We cannot consider #AI to be morally neutral. In reality, every technical tool embodies choices and priorities through what it measures, ignores, and optimizes, and how it classifies people and situations. Ethical discernment cannot be limited to asking whether we are using a system for good or bad purposes. It must also examine how that system is designed and what vision of the human person and society is embedded in the data and models that guide it. #MagnificaHumanitas
Today, I learned they have now created a method of pain relief for vasectomies that doesn’t involve local anesthesia via a needle (it is apparently a small blast of air to make the medication go through the skin).
In case you need to wonder exactly how or why women are ANGRY over the disparities in healthcare that exist, women still don’t get local anesthesia for an IUD insertion as a standard practice, current day OB/GYN’s still use a speculum that was designed in 1870.
It’s way absurd...
No it is not - it gets everything wrong!
Streets were not permanently muddy wastelands. While not Constantinople, London had paved streets, street-cleaning, and even pollution regulations.
People did not all wear brown rags. Tudor clothing was often colourful.
Beds were not just loose straw. There were sheets.
Lighting was not endless cheap candles; and rooms were often painted.
Executioners did not wear masks all the times.
There were strict laws about animals walking around freely, especially pigs. Who also looked differently back then.
And most glaringly, there should be children everywhere. This was a period of high mortality, but also high fertility.
This is not historical reconstruction. It is ai slop, made by someone who used ai slop instead of books. - “Tudor grimecore”.
The only correct thing is that "Chloe" is an influencer, and they are not particularly bright people.
Do you remember when radio stations used to give away concert tickets and backstage passes? I just heard a midday radio giveaway, and now the prizes are groceries, a year of gas, or rent paid. It’s a strange reminder that survival has become the prize. That’s pretty sad.
