@paranoidbull@LukeGromen@buccocapital Excuse my morbid naivete, but what happens as they gradually die off? Won't that create a decline in housing prices?
I know some will say it's antithetical to the Bitcoin ethos to seek yield (not your keys, not your coins) but this concept is obviously going to be a big deal at some point. Wondering who is leading the charge at this moment
@MinnesHODLan Yep, this is absolutely correct. In theory, the halvings could be moved up significantly.
In practice, there aren't enough computer chips being fabricated to make this happen.
@GCRClassic This is such cope.
Look at any group photo from before like 1970 and tell me again that obesity is a natural set point for some people.
Obesity is not a product of genetics or biology - it's a product of garbage food and garbage behavior.
@jpegonomist @mdesim01@nic_carter@connoroday0 Yes that's true. Also, natural resource constraints make it impossible to fabricate enough new chips - hardware would need to be acquired from other miners. As well, ASICs have gotten so efficient that it's impossible to make a miner that's 5x faster.
@mdesim01@nic_carter@connoroday0 In theory, in a vacuum, it's reasonable to think that an entity with a ton of money could just buy all the hashrate and start making decisions.
In practice it's not so easy, for many reasons. This post from David Vorick was illuminating for me in 2018 https://t.co/YGon7EPTnc
@g_usermod @LukeYoungblood What will soon happen to make "smart contracts" a valid description?
The tidbit about Gavin seems to confirm my suspicion that "web3" is a nebulous, marketing term - similar to "world computer"
@MattyHODL @BobMcElrath@somedeepstuff1@sck_trade yeah, this is my take as well. basically everyone I know has had covid. i'm just over the hysteria of it all. let everyone do their own thing.
@BobMcElrath@somedeepstuff1@sck_trade Why are grandma and niece dead if this guy doesn't get hypothetical omicron vax? Are they dead regardless of if they get the vax themselves?
