If you invested Sh100,000 in one of these investments or assets, such as Safaricom, Bitcoin or gold, 15 years ago, here’s how much it would be worth today.

Sacco members could lose at least Sh11.6 billion after KUSCCO was placed under voluntary liquidation.
But what happened to the money?
Here’s a simple thread breaking it down.
Little guy decided Tigoni cold is too much and the house is just fine for a bit of park and chill.
Contrary to fictions and legends such as snakes not thriving in cold areas, there are loads of snakes in Limuru and the larger Kikuyu escarpment. These are mostly mole snakes. sp. pseudaspis cana. The tea soil is deep and nice for lots of rats and mice, and so the snakes have to be where the action is. One of the additional joys of living in the sticks is that sometimes nice little critters may visit your house for a meet-and-greet.
Non-venomous but has a rather vicious mechanical bite (lateral slash) so usually best to leave the little fella alone if you can.
I met Dolly Parton once backstage at a concert. She was so incredibly gracious, warm, and kind to everyone. At one point, she leaned over to me and whispered "Ruto Must Go" Eternal rest to Dolly, she was such a darling and a legend!
What happened?
1. 🧊 Glacier collapse: A large portion of a glacier in the Himalayan region broke away and fell into a steep valley.
2. 🪨 Ice + rock + debris: The collapse generated a huge debris flow containing ice, rocks, sediment and water.
3. 🌊 Sudden river surge: This rapidly increased the flow in the Lhende/Bhote Koshi river system, producing a powerful flash flood downstream.
4. ⛰️ Steep Himalayan terrain: Nepal's steep valleys allow enormous volumes of water and debris to travel very rapidly, making flash floods particularly destructive.
5. 🌡️ Climate change may contribute: Himalayan glaciers are retreating and thinning with rising temperatures, potentially making glacier slopes and glacial lakes more unstable. However, the exact contribution of climate change to this particular collapse is still being investigated.
Important: The seismic signal initially led to reports of an earthquake, but subsequent analysis indicated that it was generated by the glacial collapse and resulting debris flow, not a conventional earthquake.
More generally, Nepal is highly flood-prone because of monsoon rainfall, cloudbursts, landslides, snow/glacier melt, glacial-lake outburst floods (GLOFs), and landslide-dammed rivers.
