“Why are you posting instead of going to a shelter?”
I read that comment, and I want to answer it.
The air raid siren started shortly after 1 a.m. My two children were already asleep. Unless you’ve had to wake sleeping children in the middle of the night because of incoming missiles, it’s hard to imagine what that feels like.
I live in an apartment building. There is no proper bomb shelter nearby. The only option is the basement of our building. But when missiles are already in the air, running outside can be just as dangerous. Shrapnel can strike at any moment.
And let’s be honest: the basement of a regular apartment building is not guaranteed protection from a missile strike. It may help protect against drone debris or fragments, but not against a direct missile hit.
There is no subway in Vinnytsia where we can take shelter. We use what we have: hallways, basements, and the “two-wall rule.” That’s all many of us have to protect our children.
So yes, I stay behind two walls. At that moment, it’s the best I can do to keep my children safe.
And one more thing.
Why do I post while missiles are flying?
Because silence doesn’t save lives.
I write because I want the world to see and understand what Ukrainian families are living through every single day. These are not just headlines or statistics. This is our reality.
I write with the hope that our stories will reach people who make decisions. That Ukraine will receive more air defense systems. That our skies will become safer. That fewer children will wake up to explosions.
We are not asking for pity.
We are asking to be heard.
Because while you’re reading these words, Ukrainian parents are once again holding their children close as explosions echo outside.
Polls show Brian Poindexter is only ONE point behind Max Miller in the race for OH-7 in a Trump +11 district. We can win this. He's almost at 10k followers. Let's get him there today.
I’m Brian Poindexter - I’m a union ironworker, and I’m running for Congress because working people's lives keep getting harder and harder while billionaires keep getting richer and richer.
Washington isn't making it any easier.
I'm ready to fight back. Are you?

He's been gettin around. I just got through playing in a basketball game with Mitch McConnell. I gotta admit, he's got more hop than I woulda thought at this point. Just not enough today.
The U.S. has been significantly weakened by the war with Iran.
This administration depleted our missile defenses, drained our oil reserves, sacrificed our men & women, inflated the price of consumer goods, increased our debt, and neglected our domestic needs…
all for Israel.
The most important thing happening on planet earth right now is this war in Ukraine. Because it’s a war about the rights of human beings to live free. If you’re an American and you don’t care about the cause of Ukraine and want them to win - you’re either not the type of 🇺🇸 I want to know, or you’re misinformed.
Jared Kushner holds no government position.
Yet he is our Middle East Envoy.
The Saudis have paid him $100M and invested $2B in his firm.
He pushed for Saudi nuclear enrichment over the objection of national security officials.
Today his father-in-law made it happen.
But what about my paintings…
Today the U.S. House of Representatives passed a bill that would integrate Israel into our own military supply chains. 7 Republicans, including @RepThomasMassie opposed it. But 6 Democrats voted for it - enough to make it pass. Their names/handles in the next tweet:
We are supposedly at war to stop Iran from enriching the uranium we “obliterated” over a year ago.
Yesterday we signed a deal to help Saudi Arabia enrich uranium.
The first time the United States has ever helped another country enrich uranium on foreign soil.
The Saudis refused the inspection protocol 140 other countries accept. Too intrusive, they said.
Trump agreed. He signed a national security waiver to get around the rule.
The Saudis paid Kushner $100 million. They put $2 billion into his firm. They put another $6 billion into LIV Golf, which pays Trump properties to host its tournaments. They signed ten billion dollars in Trump-branded real estate deals in Jeddah and Riyadh. All in just the last few years.
But sure. My paintings.
Kasparov: Putin used Russian money effectively to buy entire Western political parties and corrode the political class.
That system became a foundation strong enough to help his regime survive even under today’s pressure. 1/
This puppy definitely deserves a hero badge! I was so worried about those little ducklings, but this brave pup didn’t hesitate to jump right in and help. The way they interact is just too precious—proof that kindness has no species!
A lot of things were starting to go right for Ukraine on the battlefield.
Decisions Mykhailo Fedorov made as Defence Minister were a key part of that.
He did make errors, but removing him now, under these circumstances, is a huge mistake.
One of the most jarring things about adulthood is the realization of how many truly incompetent people are in the most important jobs. When I was a kid, I just assumed everyone “important” was smart or they wouldn’t be important. Boy, was that fucking wrong.
They shot him, dragged his lifeless body onto the pavement, and handcuffed his corpse while his 3-year old daughter wearing Bluey pajamas watched in horror. If you say you voted for this you are an empty soulless vessel.
