He was a very special child. He loved old cars, the outdoors, hunting, and fishing. He fought bone cancer with incredible courage. During his battle, 16-year-old Tyler Harper never complained.
Two years ago, Tyler was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a type of bone cancer. It’s a cancer that can act like Whack-A-Mole—treat one spot, and it can appear somewhere else.
Even so, Tyler, from Douglas, GA, faced his cancer like a true champion. His mother, Christine, told me, “Tyler had faith that could move mountains.”
In early 2024, surgeons were able to save Tyler’s leg. But last July, the cancer returned—it was found in both of Tyler’s legs and in his lungs. He started chemotherapy, but later it was reduced.
Doctors sent Tyler home to hospice last summer and told his parents, Kevin and Christine, to focus on keeping him comfortable.
Christine reached out to tell me that Tyler passed away at 6:45 p.m. ET last night.
“Tyler fought so hard,” Christine said. “Through chemo and his immunotherapy, he did his best, but the cancer was everywhere.”
Kevin and Christine wanted me to share Tyler’s story and ask for your prayers. Even though this news is very sad, they want everyone to know that Tyler was full of goodness.
They thank everyone for the love and support they gave during Tyler’s fight.
*Thanks to Christine and Kevin Stone for the pictures.
