When MakerX started, the idea of taking a team of nearly 50 people to Fiji would have felt like a dream, and last week, it happened.
We gathered as a team that usually spans multiple cities, time zones, and backgrounds for our 2026 company retreat. We spent time stepping back to understand what’s been working, what we’re learning, and where we’re heading next. We explored how AI is reshaping our work, and created space to align on the opportunities and challenges ahead.
Approaching half a century of Makers. Couldn't be prouder of this team.
(Stay tuned for our team activity Fiji post 🌴 📸 )
"Why are we using this tech again?" If you've ever joined a project midstream and asked that, you're not alone.

Blockchain has always promised transformation. With @AlgoFoundation that promise is becoming reality.
But even the most powerful tech needs a way in, especially for developers. That’s where AlgoKit comes in. Built in partnership with MakerX, #AlgoKit simplifies building on #Algorand, bringing the joy back to creating. From idea to application, it’s designed to accelerate innovation and empower developers—whether they're Web2 veterans or Web3 natives.
With 1.1B+ transactions, 33M+ wallets, and a global ecosystem that includes FIFA and major institutions, Algorand isn’t just keeping pace. It’s setting it.

Some of the @MakerXAU bunch at #freostartupfest as part of #westtechfest. Highlights were 'reverse pitch' by a selection of VC founders, @meliss_houghton 's tek talk on 'GitHub for Startups for startups' and the amazing food
🌏As a remote-first company, we love the flexibility & innovation that working remotely brings to our team. However, we also deeply value coming together in person and having quality time together. Check out our photos from our recent team day exploring Perth's Swan Valley 😍.
Super proud of what we've produced for Kanga. It's been rewarding to see this product built from beginning to end and have a great working relationship with @John_W_Power thorugh the entire journey. Look out for the launch in a few weeks (sign up for a trial and check it out?)

@Algodoodle@DataMuseum This is certainly possible. The data source we use is a continuous stream so it would mean picking a different start and end time. Currently the times are based on the increase and decrease in solar flare activity. I'll add the idea to our list, thanks for the suggestion!
'As our world is becoming increasingly digital, we're actually losing information.. Blockchain is the only way to actually digitally mimic a historic artifact' ⛓️
@DataMuseum uses Algorand’s quantum-secure, reliable, fast & scalable blockchain technology to create an accurate historical database 🖥️
Users can now buy earthquakes and solar flare artifacts as NFTs in real time via a Dutch Auction pricing mechanism 🪙
Solutions that scale are built on Algorand.
That's Massive! One of the biggest solar flares we have recorded on Data History Museum.
We recently updated the site so you can buy solar flares and earthquakes 😯.
One of the perks of part-time work. More drive to DIY. This week, car repairs (and learning how to edit video in #DaVinciResolve)
