24/7, day and night, the @nycemergencymgt Watch Command is keeping an eye on New Yorkers across the five boroughs.
Take a look behind the scenes at this team that monitors emergencies big and small:
NYC Emergency Management is still on the ground following this morning’s partial building collapse in the Bronx. Our most important role is coordinating the city’s interagency response. We are bringing together FDNY, NYPD, DOB, NYCHA, DOT, DEP, HPD, ConEd, the Red Cross, and others to ensure every piece of this response moves together. We’ve deployed light towers to keep the site safe overnight. We are helping secure emergency shelter and care for residents who were displaced. When New Yorkers face crisis, we show up. We stay. And we help carry them through.
Thanks to strong interagency coordination @NYCHealthSystem has resumed services at Woodhull Hospital. NYCEM ops have concluded at 5:16 PM. Grateful to all partners & stakeholders. H&H, FDNY, NYPD, MTA, ConEd, and more.
In a unique collaboration with Tradesman Brewing Company, it is exciting to introduce the Know Your Zone beer. Emergency Management finding different ways to promote hurricane awareness.
@ATCanonymous A professional conversation should be had after the call to better understand SOPs, and work together in future. But once you transfer care, it’s their patient and their protocols
@Space_Station@NASA_Astronauts We can get a live stream of an astronauts helmet cam in space but we can’t get the angle to determine if a play was offsides or catch is a catch. C’mon @NHL@NFL
