Forty-one years ago, I sat in the House Chamber as a Boys State participant. That experience helped spark my interest in public service.
Today, I spoke to this year's class, and I have a feeling a few future legislators were sitting in those seats.
In a time where national
security and critical infrastructure is paramount, this was an informative opportunity to hear from national leaders on these issues.
From crypto mining to agriculture, Arkansas faces real vulnerabilities that foreign adversaries are actively looking to exploit. That’s why @DepDNILukas, @NCSCStreet, and their teams came to Arkansas to discuss how we can work together to protect our state.
This special session was about letting people keep more of what they earn. Arkansas is doing well, and we believe taxpayers should feel that in their own household budgets.
Honored and grateful. I'm thankful to my colleagues for placing their trust in me once again to serve as Speaker of the House for the 96th General Assembly.
We’re making strong progress toward passing a balanced, responsible budget while also delivering meaningful tax relief for Arkansas families. The House wrapped up Week 2 with unanimous support for a resolution that would allow legislation to lower the cost of homeownership.
Preparations are complete and week one is in the books.

Always a pleasure joining Arkansas Week with Steve Barnes. We had a great conversation about the upcoming Fiscal Session and how we continue working to move Arkansas forward.
Catch Arkansas Week tonight at 7:30 on @ArkansasTV_ .
Representative Berry was always a joy to be around. I can’t recall him ever saying anything negative about anyone. He loved his family deeply and proudly served his district. He will be missed.
I was heartbroken to learn of the passing of Rep. Stan Berry. Stan loved Arkansas and the people of District 44. You could see that in the way he served and the way he treated everyone he met. His presence will be missed in our chamber. Please keep his family in your prayers.

Pre-Fiscal Session budget hearings started this morning.
Over the next few days, we’ll be reviewing the Governor’s proposed budget and hearing from state agencies about their priorities. It’s an important step in making sure taxpayer dollars are spent wisely.
Budget Hearings start Wednesday. These hearings provide us the opportunity to closely examine agency requests, ask questions, and ensure taxpayer dollars are being spent wisely.
