In Uganda, one in five children don’t complete primary school. Schools are often under-resourced, and children lack access to quality learning, especially in emergencies.
To address these challenges, @savechildrenug takes a holistic, multi-sectoral approach that prioritises children’s rights and wellbeing, and strengthens education systems.
Save the Children believes that all children should receive a quality, inclusive and safe education, and children themselves tell us the same – that their right to education is their most pressing issue.
We know that working together creates impact, and by working with local communities, partners and children and their families, we can create positive change for children in Uganda.
As Chair of Save the Children’s Africa Advisory Board, I am dedicated to working alongside Save the Children to raise the voices of children and to fight for their right to an education. This #WorldEducationDay, I hope you’ll join us in this mission.

@winfredjaan , Representative from @savechildrenug - Uganda should be intentional in investing in child centered programs, health care and human capital development. Prioritize and ensure that the budget is responsive to the needs of the vulnerable people in the community.
We call upon @GovUganda to repurpose the FY2024/25 budget towards enhancing Primary Health Care to cater for training, retooling, and more integrated outreaches to hard-to-reach areas to enable young people access health information and services. Collins-Peer educator #UGBUDGET24

Adolescence, a period of rapid growth and consequently of increased nutritional demands isn't prioritised.
Thus the need for evidence-based interventions to inform policy decisions on adolescent nutrition.
what are your thoughts on adolescent nutrition in urban areas?
I am excited to have joined @UNICEF as the Director of the @UNICEFhealth Program.
As children's need for health services has never been more critical, I aim to continue advocating for a world where every child has access to the health care they need.
