@jpalmiotti Worked for Southwest Airlines & Marriott Hotels in my younger days. Manager/partner in a family self storage business for 35+ years. Comic collector since 1972.
@iamsteranko Praying you are well, Jim. Total silence on eX-Twitter since May is concerning. Is it too much to hope that you are working on Vol. 3 of your History of Comics?
Our kids have been after us to choose our grandparent names. “Granddad” was my dad & my grandfather, but we decided to take advantage of a rare opportunity. I’m gonna get Miles to call me “Cap” & Karen is gonna be “GiGi” (for Golden Girl…see Captain America Comics Vol. 1, #66).
Finally acquiesced to the wishes of Karen & the kids that I stop climbing on the roof or our two story house to string Christmas lights. Hired a young man to do it & took this opportunity to replace all of our aging light sets with brighter LEDs.
“You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Bear fruits that befit repentance.”
John the Baptist wishes you a broody & penitent Advent.
(Inspired by Sunday’s sermon by @reagan.gonz. Hope I got the reference right.)
@MurphIsHere@iamsteranko “That’ll be the day.” That John Wayne line in “The Searchers” inspired a young Buddy Holly (from my hometown) to write the classic song of the same name.
I was one of 8 finalists for Voice of the Ocean on a recent Ruby Princess cruise from San Francisco. For an old guy who sings karaoke occasionally I was fortunate to be included among several accomplished singers. Not gonna quit my day job but I don’t think I embarrassed myself.
