A man in his twenties, for no apparent reason, assaulted an elderly woman who was collecting cardboard 72 times over 30 minutes, causing her death. The woman had a frail build, standing 132 cm tall and weighing 31 kg. She knelt down and pleaded, “Please stop the assault,” but he did not stop. 🚨 Former South Korean child actors are exposing the dark side of the industry and some of these stories are honestly heartbreaking.

Actors Heo Jeong Min, Kang Rae Yeon, and Seo Jae Kyung revealed that when they were child actors, there were little to no protections in place. According to them, children were ranked on a 1–5 grading system and their pay depended on those grades, not necessarily on how popular they were.
Kang Rae Yeon shared that the highest-paid child actors earned only ₩250,000 (about $167) per drama episode. She also recalled exhausting overnight shoots that often lasted until sunrise.
But the most shocking revelation was the alleged abuse on set.
Seo Jae Kyung claimed that if child actors made mistakes, they weren’t just scolded, they were sometimes hit so severely that they bled. Kang Rae Yeon added that if a child couldn’t cry during an emotional scene, they would allegedly be hit until they cried so filming could continue.
The actors stressed that most directors treated them well but said a small number of individuals created a toxic environment.
They also alleged there was widespread corruption behind the scenes. Seo Jae Kyung claimed some people in positions of power accepted under-the-table payments, gifts, and favor while Heo Jeong Min alleged that some parents even paid bribes in hopes of getting their children’s acting grades raised.

If these allegations are true, it’s a disturbing reminder of how different the entertainment industry was for child actors in the past.😭😭

I’m sitting in the food court when this little boy, maybe 6 or 7 years old, accidentally knocks over his slushee. Blue and red goop explodes everywhere......all over the table, the floor, his shirt, you name it. The kid freezes, looks up at his dad with big scared eyes and immediately says, “I’m sorry… I didn’t mean to…”

I’m expecting the usual frustrated parent reaction, but instead the dad just kneels down to his level, puts a hand on the boy’s shoulder and says calmly, “Hey, it happens, buddy. Accidents are part of life. Come on, let’s go grab some napkins and I’ll show you how to clean it up.”

They walk over together, get a big stack of napkins, and the dad gets down on the floor with him. They’re both wiping up the mess while the dad talks him through it like it’s the most normal thing in the world.

When they finish and throw the napkins away, the dad squats down again and tells him, “Listen, you’re going to be a human being for a long time. You’ve got a really smart brain, so it’s important you learn to be more aware of what’s around you. Next time just pay a little more attention so accidents like this don’t happen. But even if they do, it’s okay. As long as you take responsibility and help clean it up, it’s no big deal. The cleanup is easy when you own it.”

The little boy nods, looking relieved, and says, “Okay Dad… I’ll try to be more careful.”

The dad smiles, ruffles his hair and goes, “That’s my boy. Now let’s get you another slushee.”

I was grading the tests when a centipede crawled out. I screamed inside my head. I pretended it didn't bother me and nudged it away with my combat boots, but honestly it was really hard for my heart 🫠.
