Recently I posted some pictures of a small birthday gathering I had at my house. Two friends said “how come you didn’t invite me?”

The people I did invite would never have said such a thing, even if they weren’t invited. They would have still wished me a Happy Birthday. The people I didn’t, made it all about them.

When you are inviting people into your life or into your home consider their motives, and consider how they would react if you didn’t invite them.
