🚨 BREAKING: The Dutch RDW has released a detailed explanation of how Tesla FSD Supervised received approval in Europe.
The document reveals an approval process far more extensive than many critics have suggested.
According to the RDW:
• More than 3,000 hours of testing were conducted
• More than 1,000 independent test runs were performed
• Testing took place on public roads and dedicated test tracks
• The system was evaluated in complex urban traffic, across multiple road types, and under a wide range of weather conditions
• RDW experts independently reviewed Tesla’s statistical analyses
• Tesla’s data collection methods were audited for completeness, accuracy, and verifiability
• The assessment included data from 1.8 million kilometers driven in Europe with FSD Supervised
Most notably, the RDW explicitly states:
“The RDW does not base its assessment solely on information provided by the manufacturer.”
“We carried out extensive independent investigation.”
In other words, the approval was not based on marketing claims, company promises, or unverified manufacturer data.
The RDW gathered its own evidence, conducted its own testing, validated the underlying data, reviewed the methodology, and independently assessed the system under European regulatory standards.
After years of discussion, speculation, and criticism, the Dutch regulator has now publicly documented how its decision was reached.
