BREAKING: India's central bank just called for a complete ban on cryptocurrency.
The Reserve Bank of India wants policies "leaning towards prohibition" and is calling for all banks and financial institutions to be completely barred from holding, trading, or gaining any exposure to crypto assets.
India's Income Tax Department is backing the push with its own concerns.
Officials say transactions routed through offshore crypto exchanges are nearly impossible to track, making tax compliance monitoring extremely difficult and creating a significant evasion risk.
They say Less than 25% of the 645,000 Indians who made crypto transactions in 2023 actually reported them on their tax returns.
India currently has 39 million crypto investors holding $2.1 billion in digital assets, according to the tax department's own estimates.
This is the world's most populated country moving toward a complete crypto ban at the same moment the US is moving toward full crypto adoption.
Proton is now publicly calling Windows spyware over the Global Device ID that Microsoft uses for every Windows installation. They say users never consent to the GDID, can't remove it, and that reinstalling Windows only partially helps since Microsoft keeps the old records.
The company found exactly one mention of the identifier in all of Microsoft's public documentation.
Every Windows installation carries a Global Device ID that Microsoft can hand to law enforcement, and a federal complaint against an alleged Scattered Spider hacker just showed it defeating a VPN.
Per the FBI affidavit, Microsoft records tied one GDID to the creation of an ngrok account used in a May 2025 jewelry retailer breach, then gave investigators the device's full IP history. Cross-referenced against the suspect's Apple, Snapchat, and Facebook logins, the VPN didn't matter.
The wait for The Elder Scrolls VI may be even longer than many fans hoped. According to Jason Schreier, the game is still at least two years away, pointing to a release in 2028 or later. Bethesda says the game is already playable internally, but it's clear the studio is taking its time with one of its biggest projects ever.
A delay like this is disappointing, but it's probably the right call. Expectations for The Elder Scrolls VI are incredibly high, and after more than a decade of waiting, the last thing fans need is a rushed release.

Microsoft may be preparing another major shift in its Xbox strategy. Recent reports claim the company is considering making future flagship games like Fallout 5 and The Elder Scrolls VI Xbox exclusives. That would be a major shift away from its multiplatform strategy and another step toward strengthening the Xbox ecosystem.
If this happens, it could be another nail in Sony's coffin. Combined with the backlash over dropping physical discs, Xbox would suddenly have two huge advantages: player-friendly hardware and some of the biggest RPG franchises in gaming.
‼️ TikTok's official verified Discord server has been breached by crypto scammers. They have been pinging everyone for over two weeks now with a fake MrBeast crypto casino scam featuring a $2,500 bonus lure and fabricated withdrawal screenshots.
Microsoft appears to be reconsidering its plans for the next Xbox. While earlier reports suggested Project Helix would be digital-only, newer information says the company is still deciding whether to include a disc drive. Microsoft is reportedly watching the backlash against PlayStation's move away from physical games before making a final decision.
I think keeping a disc drive would be a huge win for Xbox. Physical games still matter to collectors and to players who want real ownership and better prices. If Microsoft goes this route while PlayStation abandons discs, there's a high chance many gamers will choose Xbox for that reason alone.

Sony's legal problems in the Netherlands are growing fast. A consumer group representing around 1.7 million players is seeking over 400€ million, arguing that Sony abuses its control over the PS store by keeping digital game prices artificially high. They also claim that moving away from physical discs gives Sony even more control over pricing and access to games.
This is a real embarrassment for Sony. Years of pushing players toward a closed digital ecosystem have finally caught up with the company, and removing physical discs only made the monopoly accusations even stronger. Whether Sony wins or loses in court, this is a terrible look for the brand.
