@zatzi Its company greed not Labour. Supermarkets aren’t strugggling they are making millions a day. Self service, automation of supply chain, staff aren’t needed. More money for shareholders.
@RhodesLeopold@otisdriftwood99@DuncanHegan1 Not been done because it would cost billions to buy new rolling stock, upgrade signalling, change platforms. Unions aren’t in charge, they want to make sure people are paid well for what they do and have good terms and conditions. Something we should all strive for.
@chappillie@PopBase They funding a train station and new roads. This will bring thousands of jobs to build it and run it. Will bring thousands of tourists in every year. Makes sense for government to support it.
@DuncanHegan1 Tax payer will pay either way if they out of work we will have to pay them benefits. Rather pay people to work so they can look after family and have a decent roof over their heads.
@DuncanHegan1 Awww nice and make people redundant. Should be about protecting people’s jobs and give people better working conditions. We should all be looking after eachother.
@proptechpioneer B&M have lost their way, need to go back to basics. Home & Bargains is cheaper and has better standards. Only ever one till on when I go to my local B&M. Puts me off from going always a queue.
This man robbed a bank for $1, sat down and waited for the police, just to get free healthcare in prison
In 2011 a man named Richard James Verone walked into a RBC Bank in Gastonia, North Carolina
Handed the teller a note demanding $1
One dollar
Then sat down in the lobby and waited calmly for police to arrive
He was 59. No job. No insurance. A growth on his chest. Two ruptured discs.
Calculated that a federal conviction would guarantee him full medical coverage inside prison
The judge sentenced him to 3 years
He got the surgery
He got the treatment
He told reporters on the way out he had no regrets
A 59 year old American man robbed a bank for $1 because it was cheaper than seeing a doctor
He truly is a 'man of the people'. I mean, we've all been given a 'no-strings-attached' 5 mil donation from a crypto billionaire at some point in our lives. Leave him alone!
**Most reported/convicted rapes in the UK are committed by White men (around 80-83% of prosecuted or sentenced sexual offence offenders where ethnicity is known, per MoJ/CPS data), aligning with the ~81-83% White population share in England & Wales.**
Religion data is limited and self-declared. Older MoJ figures (2014) showed ~12% of male rape prisoners identifying as Muslim. Latest prison stats (2024) have Muslims at 18% of the total prison population (vs ~7% of UK population), with Christians and "no religion" making up the bulk.
**Caveats (key from the original chart):** UK's high reported rate stems from broad legal definitions, high victim reporting, and strong recording practices—not necessarily higher actual offending. Most cases involve known perpetrators (partners/acquaintances), not strangers. Many offences never reach conviction, and ethnicity/religion recording has gaps.
Right, you Reform voting fuckwits, here’s your leader, @Nigel_Farage trying to appear like an ordinary bloke down the pub with a pint in one hand and a copy of the Sun in the other.
Here’s a few facts for you.
1 He is the son of a well known stockbroker.
2 He was a Dulwich schoolboy.
3 He worked in the City for 18 years mostly as a commodities broker.
4 A billionaire has recently given him £5 million, others have donated huge sums too.
So, do really think he gives a flying fuck about you or your life?
No, of course he doesn’t.
In fact, you are little more than excrement under his feet and you are such a thick piece of shit you cannot even see it.
He is USING you.
I despair.
@TranmereRovers Awful season. Nothing to celebrate. Sat around people with Anfield screensavers. Rats broke the seats at the back of the kop too.
Complete clear out in the summer and hopefully new owners.
