Do not separate too sharply convenience from sincerity. If something is especially convenient, humans who do not have profound integrity and profound stability may drift until they believe sincerely what is convenient to believe.
Reminder... the last time the Senate debated military aid to Ukraine two months ago, the Kremlin's MAGA trolls in the Senate had no real arguments so they decided just to waste everyone's time by reading Dr. Seuss on the floor of the Senate.
1:52pm Eastern - Military aid to Ukraine just passed in the House by a vote of 311-112.
The aid bill is done in the House and now goes to the Senate to be voted.
Congratulations to everyone that helped make this happen!!
The US Senate has passed $61 billion in military aid for Ukraine. The vote was 70-29. The House needs to vote on it now.
This is Republican Senator Mitt Romney speaking in favor of support for Ukraine:
"The vote we will soon take... is the most important vote we will ever take as United States Senators."
"If your position is being cheered by Vladimir Putin, it's time to reconsider your position."
"Helping a free people defend their freedom is simply the right thing to do."
Republicans are refusing to vote to secure the border. Biden and the Democrats are offering them a deal to secure the border and get military funding aid for Ukraine and Republicans want to see Russia win MORE THAN they want to secure the border.
Trump is calling Republican senators and telling them not to vote to secure the border because he wants to campaign on this issue the next 9 months.

Trump and Putin are often listed together. I don’t like this. Putin is an external force. Trump isn’t. Trump is a domestic disease. To beat Putin, we look out of the window. To beat Trump, we look in the mirror.
When we come across a profound point of view different to our own, the trick is not to state how much we agree or disagree with it, but to see what surprising common ground, and what surprising differences, we may discover between us and it.
Putin loyalists in Moscow celebrated when Republicans voted to block Ukraine aid last week.
The host of one Kremlin-run show literally said: “Well done, Republicans!"
Folks, if you’re being celebrated by Russian propagandists, it might be time to rethink what you’re doing.
'Our world order collapsed (we haven't noticed)'
A major new video is up on my main YT channel. We are entering a world without a world order; an age of fragmentation. But how do we respond to this global crisis if at home, our democracies are in decline?
