Nigerian-American basketball star Nneka Ogwumike has officially retired from the WNBA after an illustrious 15-year career.
Born in Tomball, Texas, to Nigerian parents and raised in an Igbo household, Nneka grew up alongside her three sisters, including fellow WNBA player Chiney Ogwumike. She went on to play college basketball at Stanford, where she established herself as one of the best players in the country.
In 2012, the Los Angeles Sparks selected her No. 1 overall in the WNBA Draft. She won Rookie of the Year in her first season and later became the 2016 WNBA MVP and champion with the Sparks. She spent 13 of her 15 WNBA seasons in Los Angeles, with two seasons at the Seattle Storm. She was also named an All-Star 11 times and became one of the most accomplished players in WNBA history. (WNBA)
Beyond basketball, Nneka served as president of the WNBA Players Association from 2016 and played a major role in advocating for players and the growth of women’s basketball.
After 15 seasons, Nneka announced her retirement in August, saying she felt “grateful, fulfilled, and at peace.” She played her final WNBA game on September 24, finishing with 17 points and 15 rebounds for the Sparks. (WNBA)
A remarkable career comes to an end, but the legacy of our proud Igbo daughter continues.

“There’s Nothing To Celebrate. At 66, What Are We Celebrating? Imagine This Government Going To The UN To Beg For Money. It Was So Shameful, And It Pained Me To My Bones.” ~ Pastor Sarah Omakwu Reacts To Nigeria At 66.
I actually cried watching this, especially when I saw Junior Pope and Alex Ekubo. 🥺💔 Seeing them again like this hit differently. May the souls of these legends continue to rest peacefully. 🕊️🕊️

An 89-year-old man, Pa Everestus Okereke, and his eldest son, Ugochukwu, are facing execution in Imo State after spending a decade behind bars for a crime allegedly committed by another relative.
The tragedy began in 2016 when Pa Okereke's younger son allegedly fled after a fight resulted in another man's death. Authorities detained Pa Okereke and his first son in place of the missing suspect, and both were sentenced to death by hanging in September 2022.

Trust me, some mothers are on this table, because I had the same experience with My sister-inlaw
My hubby's sister once stayed us with her son, the first day they came, I served them rice without meat,
She was like, Chi no meat or egg, I said no, no money to get them,
She said, haa, Akachukwu can not eat food without meat or fish in it,
I just said ok, let me carry it back because My daughter can manage anything we have that's how i am training her,
I told my husband,
he said let her go and buy the meat and fish for her son, she can't give him order in his house,
To my surprised, they later ate the food and managed with us like that for 1yr and 8months they stayed with us, but trust me each time we cooked without fish or meat, she wil laments till she finishs the food 🤣🤣
No sitting on the fence… Me, My family, my pastors, those who loves me are voting for Peter Obi. He is the only politician who has not joined hands in destroying the country..
— Pastor Suleman
“Let’s assume Peter Obi actually collected the loan, as the Anambra State Government claims. If you remove the amount he left in the state’s account before leaving office, the foreign currency alone would be enough to clear the entire debt Governor Soludo claims he owes, unless there is another debt they are yet to show Nigerians.”
— Rufai Oseni, speaking this morning
🚨🎙Interviewer: Who’s do you think is the biggest club in the Premier league?
Mbappe: “By far Manchester united, massive club, incredible, they might be in a slump right now but the lion will surely rise again”
H.E Peter Obi said he will make politics unattractive because what they do here in Nigeria is state capture.
He also said he will turn night vigil into night shift, there is no miracle alert anywhere: it’s called stealing 😅
We must be productive!
How many testimonies do we need to hear before we understand who Peter Obi really is?
A wealthy and deeply connected man. His network, goodwill and relationships are unmatched by many in Nigerian politics.
The testimonies keep coming. At some point, we should listen.
