Interesting... He was part of the "old" CD Projekt, before it became known worldwide as CD Projekt RED.

CD Projekt started as a publisher of games in Poland and other countries (Czech Republic, Hungary, etc.). It later opened its own studio, CD Projekt RED, and launched Good Old Games (https://t.co/cIMfu1MD94). Michał Kiciński was a co-founder of the original CD Projekt but stepped down from his operational role in 2010.

What’s most important: In the 1990s, games in Poland cost around 200 PLN (~$70–75 USD). CD Projekt slashed prices by 50% for new releases, often dropping budget titles to as low as 20 PLN, cutting select games to just 10% of the original price. For comparison, pirated copies cost about 50 PLN (a quarter of the original), so legit games became as cheap as, or even cheaper than pirates.

They also pioneered Polish localization, delivering hits like Baldur's Gate with a full voice cast featuring Poland's greatest actors.

CD Projekt's contribution to video games in Poland was enormous. That's why the news of the man who did so much for Polish gaming acquiring 100% ownership of GOG is great news. I don't think there's anything to worry about, on the contrary, we might see even more effort poured into GOG.
