Just had to throw out this quick 360 timelapse of the Elba, NY supercell before getting shuteye.
100% worth the 700-mile round trip. A June First Chasing channel video will definitely come in a few days.

5 years ago, Jon Stewart was right for the 2nd time ever when he told Stephen Colbert that COVID leaked from a Wuhan lab. Leftists said he either turned into a wing-nut conspiracy theorist or he was imitating one. Stewart later called it “a pretty good bit that expressed kind of how I felt.”
So, credit where credit is due. Stewart spoke the truth that was obvious to most conservatives and he didn’t back down from the censors and cancel-culture cultists on his own side of the political aisle.
All of that cost is an add-on to our energy bills because most renewables are not consistent power providers vs fossil or nuclear energy. Please do not use the words cheap or savings when discussing storage, it is deceptive in nature!
PS. The negatives of battery technology to the environment makes this even a harsher lie.
The record for the coldest week (typically measured as the 7-day period with the lowest average temperature) in Rochester, NY history isn't as straightforwardly documented in public sources as monthly or daily extremes, since official NWS records focus more on daily/monthly/seasonal marks. However, available data and local weather reports point to several standout brutal stretches, especially from the 1930s cold waves.
Key notable cold weeks/7-day periods include:
- February 1934 (around the Feb 7–9 peak, extending into mid-February): This period is legendary for extreme cold in Rochester. The all-time record low of -22°F occurred on February 9, 1934, amid a multi-day Arctic outbreak. Highs were often in the single digits or teens below zero, with lows consistently sub-zero. While exact 7-day averages aren't always quoted, this stretch is frequently cited as one of the coldest in city history (including the last full freeze-over of Lake Ontario). It contributed heavily to February 1934 being one of the coldest months overall.
- January 24–30, 2025 (or a similar recent stretch mentioned in reports): A local meteorologist noted a 7-day mean average temperature of 8.9°F during this period, which shattered the previous record for that specific calendar week (from 1935) by nearly a full degree. This was described as "wicked cold" and among the coldest such stretches in modern times/lifetimes, though not necessarily the absolute coldest 7-day period ever.
### Top Teams / Division Leaders as of Nov 29, 2025
- Colorado Avalanche (Central): Dominant leaders — post-win record around 18-1-6 (~42 points), with an ongoing point streak (now 16 games), exceptional November/early Dec form (11-0-2 in Nov extending), high goal differential, and few regulation losses all season. They were the clear #1 in the NHL.
Rep. Roy: “Should we be putting forward legislation that will continue to fund the insurance companies at the level they're currently getting, where 85% of their revenues are coming from the federal government? Because that's what's happening.
Or are the $35 billion going to insure insurance companies last year that go to people that weren't even using their plans? Is that what we should be doing?
Is that the health care system that my colleagues and the other side of the aisle are saying that must be addressed by virtue of subsidies to insurance companies?”
